Ulana Lauhala: Hawaiian Weaving Workshop

Brooke Kahawai Holt, is a Mākaha, Oʻahu–based artisan whose work centers around contemporary jewelry alongside the ancestral practices of lauhala weaving and hulu (feather) lei making.

Guided by the stories of her kūpuna and the rhythm of island life, she creates adornment that honors ʻike passed on through generations—each weave and each feather placed with intention, respect, and aloha. Working with materials gathered from the ʻāina and shaped through traditional practice, her pieces carry forward living moʻolelo that reflect beauty, identity, and belonging.
