VogueFabricsDalston '92-A Year in Dance Music - November 29th

November 17, 2014 admin
92-A-year-in-dance.jpg

ANYONE BORN IN 1992 GETS IN FOR FREE BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND FOR CHEAP AFTER. BRING ID!* Following our trips back in time from 1989-1986, and then magically forward in time to 1990-1991, we continue moving forward to 1992.

The year when rave culture continued to dominate the UK, sparking off into darker territories on one hand and comedy territory on the other. When Eurodance became a genre all of its own, and house continued to dominate the clubs and charts.

Neil Prince and David Oh will be taking a trip back to the dance sounds of 1992, playing the tracks that are inspiring a whole batch of current electronic artists, from Hercules and Love Affair to Disclosure to Duke Dumount and beyond. From those which still get plenty of love on dance floors, to those which time has unfairly forgotten. We'll be throwing in house, techno and rave classics, but also not forgetting those tracks that time has unfairly forgotten. There'll also be a few of the pop gems from the year.

From Prodigy to Prince, Snap to Shakespeare's Sister, 2 Unlimited to Opus III, Todd Terry to Take That, Utah Saints to U2.

And we promise.... no Jimmy Nail!
